Itinerary
Day 1 : Arrival in Pokhara
Upon arrival in Pokhara, you can check into your hotel and spend the rest of the day exploring the city and preparing for your trek. You can visit the beautiful Phewa Lake, the World Peace Pagoda, and the lively Lakeside area.
Day 2 : Drive to Chame
After breakfast, you will take a scenic drive from Pokhara to Chame, which is the starting point of your trek. The drive takes around 9-10 hours and you will pass through beautiful villages, forests, and rivers along the way. You will spend the night in a teahouse in Chame.
Day 3 : Trek to Upper Pisang
You will begin your trek by crossing the Marsyangdi River and ascending through pine forests to reach the village of Dhukur Pokhari. From there, you will continue your ascent to Upper Pisang, which is a beautiful village with stunning views of the Annapurna range. You will spend the night in a teahouse in Upper Pisang.
Day 4 : Trek to Ngawal
Today’s trek takes you through beautiful forests and pastures to the village of Ngawal, which is situated at an altitude of 3,660 meters. You will enjoy magnificent views of the Annapurna and Gangapurna peaks throughout the day. You will spend the night in a teahouse in Ngawal.
Day 5 : Trek to Manang
You will continue your trek to the beautiful village of Manang, which is located at an altitude of 3,540 meters. Along the way, you will cross the village of Braga and visit its famous monastery. Manang is a great place to acclimatize and explore the local culture. You will spend the night in a teahouse in Manang.
Day 6 : Acclimatization Day in Manang
Today is a rest day in Manang to help your body acclimatize to the high altitude. You can explore the village and nearby areas or take a short hike to the Gangapurna Glacier Lake. You will spend another night in Manang.
Day 7 : Trek to Chulu West Base Camp
You will leave Manang and begin trekking towards the Chulu West Base Camp. You will cross the village of Letdar and ascend through beautiful landscapes to reach the Base Camp. You will spend the night in a tent at the Base Camp.
Day 8 : Trek to High Camp
Today’s trek takes you from the Base Camp to the High Camp, which is situated at an altitude of 5,400 meters. You will cross the Chulu West Pass and enjoy breathtaking views of the Annapurna range and the surrounding landscapes. You will spend the night in a tent at the High Camp.
Day 9 : Summit Day - Island Peak
Today is the day you will attempt to summit Island Peak. You will wake up early and begin climbing towards the summit. You will cross the Lhotse Glacier and use fixed ropes to climb up the steep and challenging sections. Once you reach the summit, you will enjoy stunning views of the Himalayas and the surrounding landscapes. After spending some time at the summit, you will descend back to the Base Camp. You will spend the night in a tent at the Base Camp.
Day 10 : Trek back to Chhukung
You will begin your descent from the Base Camp and trek back to the village of Chhukung. You will pass through beautiful landscapes and enjoy magnificent views of the mountains. You will spend the night in a teahouse in Chhukung.
Day 11 : Rest day at Chhukung
Today is a rest day to acclimatize to the altitude. You can spend the day exploring the beautiful surroundings of Chhukung, or take a short hike to get a better view of the surrounding mountains. You can also spend some time preparing for the climb to Island Peak.
Day 12 : Trek from Chhukung to Island Peak Base Camp
Today, you will trek to Island Peak Base Camp. The trail is a gradual climb up the valley, passing through several small settlements and yak pastures. You will reach the base camp in the afternoon, where you will set up your tents and rest for the evening
Day 13 : Climb to High Camp
Today, you will climb to High Camp. The trail is steep and involves a climb up a rocky ridge. The final section of the climb involves a steep ascent up a snow and ice slope. You will reach High Camp in the afternoon, where you will set up your tents and rest for the evening.
Day 14 : Summit Day (6,189m/20,305ft) and back to Base Camp
Today is the most challenging day of the trek as you will attempt to summit Island Peak. You will start early in the morning to take advantage of the good weather conditions. The climb involves a steep ascent up a snow and ice slope, followed by a narrow ridge walk to the summit. From the summit, you will have breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. You will then descend back to Base Camp.
Day 15 : Trek back to Chhukung
Today, you will trek back to Chhukung, following the same trail you took earlier. You will spend the evening in Chhukung, celebrating your successful climb of Island Peak
Day 16 : Trek back to Namche Bazaar
Today, you will trek back to Namche Bazaar, following the same trail you took on the way up. You will spend the evening in Namche Bazaar, enjoying the town’s lively atmosphere and reflecting on your trek.
Day 17 : Trek back to Lukla
Today, you will trek back to Lukla, following the same trail you took on the way up. You will spend the evening in Lukla, celebrating the end of your trek with your fellow trekkers and guides.
Day 18 : Fly back to pokhara
Today, you will fly back to Pokhara from Lukla. You will spend the evening in Pokhara, exploring the city and picking up souvenirs
