The 18-Day Manaslu Circuit with Tsum Valley Trek combines two of Nepal's most revered restricted trans-Himalayan journeys into one expedition. Branching east off the Budhi Gandaki gorge into the sacred 'Beyul' of Tsum Valley, you enter an untouched Buddhist sanctuary where wildlife hunting is forbidden and ancient monasteries like Mu Gompa (3,700 m) and Rachen Gompa thrive. Returning to the main Manaslu Circuit, you ascend through the Nubri cultural corridor beneath the towering spire of Mount Manaslu (8,163 m) before conquering the glaciated high pass of Larkya La (5,106 m) into the Annapurna region.

Requires Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP), Tsum Valley Restricted Area Permit (TRAP), Manaslu Conservation Area Project (MCAP), and Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) permits. A registered government guide and a minimum group size of 2 are mandatory. Maximum elevation reaches 5,106 m at Larkya La Pass.

Walk north along the valley floor past ancient hand-carved Mani walls and chortens. Stop at Piren Phu (Milarepa’s Pigeon Cave), where the saint Milarepa meditated in the 11th century, admiring holy footprints, carved statues, and mural paintings. Continue past Rachen Gompa and the villages of Phurbe and Pangdun to reach the stone hamlet of Nile.
