Singu Chuli Peak Climbing Overview
Singu Chuli, also known as Fluted Peak, stands as the third-highest trekking peak in Nepal. Nestled within the Annapurna Sanctuary, it lies adjacent to Tharpu Chuli and Hiunchuli, forming a dramatic amphitheater of glaciers and ice formations, with the imposing southern face of Annapurna as a stunning backdrop.
Unlike easier trekking peaks, Singu Chuli demands previous mountaineering experience, particularly in ice climbing. One of the notable challenges includes navigating a steep, 100-foot vertical ice wall near the summit—making it ideal for climbers seeking a more technical adventure.
Route and Climbing Journey
The expedition begins with a scenic trek from Modi Khola Gorge, leading into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary. The trail winds through terraced farmlands and traditional Gurung villages, offering cultural encounters amid natural beauty.
🏕️ Base Camp is established at approximately 4,350 meters
🏔️ Camp I is set near the Northeast Face at 4,900 meters
🧗 Camp II lies higher at 5,500 meters, strategically positioned for summit attempts
Climbers will encounter technical sections, including a steep ice wall just below the summit. Due to these challenges, this peak is recommended only for those with prior alpine and ice climbing experience.
Trip Highlights
